If you’re a recent graduate or a student that is a few steps away from graduating and the real world is upon you, here are some options for you to consider:

Web Developer

Web developers are usually responsible for building websites, apps and technical aspects of multimedia. Creating and maintaining something like a website can be a lot, but it can show off a variety of creative skills. If your a fan of creating multimedia, this may be for you.

Audio Engineer

Audio engineers generally work behind-the-scenes at tv, radio, or recording studios and control all sound equipment. They also set up all equipment before shows or events. Learn more about this occupation here.

Photographer

This usually depends on the industry, but there a lot of employment opportunities for photography within Media and Communication. Some go off to start their own business or even go to work for a big publisher or newspaper company.

Social Media Specialist

I know most people in today’s world are buried into their phones and like to scroll through the web to see what's trending. Here you will create a social media channel by using marketing strategies to build your brand and maintain a strong audience. For those who are social media enthusiasts, this could be the career for you.

Blogger

Blogging is a great way to get your foot in the door even if you don’t have a lot of writing experience. Starting your own blog is actually kind of fun the way I put it because it can be about any topic you want.

Video Editor

Another great job for those who are not a fan of being in front of the camera. As an editor, you will be tasked to break down video clips or films, edit them and take out any errors or mistakes. For a full description, click here.

Journalist

Journalists not only write stories but go out in the field to investigate, interview people and rapidly cover current events. They report on many topics from politics, sports, global issues to crimes.

TV/Radio Host

Great occupations for those who enjoy public speaking and having sit-down interviews with people. You could even start hosting your own show or podcast and stream it online.

Again, this may be a list for you to consider to start with as you begin your job search. There are definitely a lot more options within the field of Media and Communication but I just wanted to give some ideas to those who are just starting to look for opportunities.
